Dr. Fifer originally hales from the eastside of Indianapolis. Upon graduating from Howe High School in 1980, he entered the engineering program at Purdue University. Unhappy with his majors, Dr. Fifer decided to switch horses midstream, applied and was accepted to Purdue’s veterinary program. He received his DVM from Purdue in 1987, and then moved to Brownsburg where he joined Dr. Steele’s original practice on North Green Street.
Not only did Dr. Fifer join the practice in 1987, but that is also the year he married his college sweetheart, Sara. The two settled in Brownsburg where they continue to reside. They have two married children, David and Rebecca, and in 2017 added a grandson to the count. When not at the clinic, Dr. Fifer can be found working in his yard, looking for birds, reading a book or swinging a metal detector. His pets include an aging cat named Zoobie and two young whipper-snapper cats named Alonzo and Jasmine.
